Kevin Nembhard

Kevin is a senior at Wellington High School and has served in several clubs and organizations at his school such as Key Club, Black Student Union, and the Marketing Academy. He was born and raised in New York City but then came down to Florida for high school and eventually college. Kevin has been working with Five Guys for almost 2 years now!

Q: What first brought you to start working with Five Guys?

A: “It was one of my friends who referred me to work with Five Guys because he would always talk about how much of a great work environment it was.”

Q: How do you feel that Five Guys has helped impact you to becoming a better student?

A: “Five Guys has definitely taught me to be a more organized and focused student. Having to plan out my days of both school and work, I’ve gained a habit to create a very precise schedule to limit procrastination in my schoolwork and still make sure I show up to work motivated and energetic.”

Q: What skills do you feel that you have either gained or improved the most while working at Five Guys?

A: “I have definitely improved my skill of communication by talking with my coworkers and understanding customers a lot better.”

Q: What are some leadership roles you have been given while working at Five Guys?

A: “I have been given the role of shift leader and eventually head shift leader here at the Wellington location. I’ve also helped out at many other stores within our area.”

Q: How do you see the leadership experiences you gained while working at Five Guys impacting your time after high school?

A: “It’s definitely going to help me out landing future jobs and internships while also helping me get scholarships and into colleges. Five Guys taught me a lot of skills that I could take into my everyday life.”

Q: How has it been balancing both being a student and working at Five Guys?

A: “Balancing five guys and school has been difficult at times only because I prefer to work a lot of hours and because I have a lot of rigorous classes and clubs. But it taught me to become better at time management.”
